Terms of service
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Sciento platform ("Service"). By creating a workspace or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activity that occurs under your account. Workspace administrators may set additional policies — those policies are binding within their workspace.
2. Acceptable use
You will not use the Service to (a) violate any law; (b) generate fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful research outputs; (c) attempt to extract proprietary models or training data; (d) circumvent rate, budget, or security controls; or (e) impersonate a person, agent, or institution.
3. Your data
You retain ownership of all data you submit. We process it only to operate the Service for you. We do not train shared models on your data. Workspace-scoped fine-tunes remain yours, exportable on request, and are deleted within 30 days of account termination.
4. Service availability
Growth and Enterprise tiers carry a contractual SLA defined in your order form. Starter is provided as-is. Planned maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance.
5. Fees
Fees are billed in advance per the order form. Overages are billed monthly in arrears. All amounts are exclusive of taxes. Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum permitted by law.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, models, documentation, and brand assets, is and remains the property of Sciento, Inc. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service during the term of your subscription.
7. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other's confidential information using at least the same care it uses to protect its own, and no less than reasonable care.
8. Warranties & disclaimers
We warrant the Service will perform materially in accordance with its documentation. Except as expressly stated, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties. AI outputs may contain errors; you remain responsible for any action taken on them.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party's aggregate liability will exceed the fees paid in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. Neither party will be liable for indirect or consequential damages.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate for material breach uncured after 30 days' notice. On termination, you may export your data for 90 days, after which it is permanently deleted.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Venue lies in San Francisco County.
